My Instagram account isn't showing up after connecting with Meta

Troubleshoot a missing Instagram account in The Cirqle connection flow. Covers professional account requirements, Facebook Page linking, and Meta Business permissions, plus how to reconnect once fixed.

Written by Jean de Bressy

If your Instagram account doesn't appear in the list after connecting your Meta account to The Cirqle, it's usually caused by one of three things. Work through the steps below in order.

1. Make sure your Instagram account is a professional account

Only professional accounts (Business or Creator) can be connected. Personal Instagram accounts won't appear in the list.

To check your account type or switch to a professional account, follow Instagram's official guide: Set up a professional account on Instagram

2. Make sure your Instagram account is linked to a Facebook Page

To connect with The Cirqle, your Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Page. If it isn't, it won't show up during the connection flow.

Follow Meta's guide to check whether your account is already linked, or to link it now: Connect an Instagram account to a Facebook Page

3. Verify your permissions on the Facebook Page

The account you use to log in to Meta must have access to the Facebook Page linked to your Instagram account.

To check or assign access:

  1. Find the relevant Page and click Assign access

  2. Add the account you use to log in to Meta when connecting to The Cirqle, and assign the appropriate permissions

4. Retry reconnection

Once you've completed the steps above, go back to the integrations page in The Cirqle and reconnect your Meta account. This ensures the updated settings and permissions are picked up.

Still not seeing your account?

After completing these steps, disconnect and reconnect your Meta account in The Cirqle so the updated permissions are picked up. If your Instagram account still doesn't appear, reach out to us via the chat and we'll help you out.
