How are all the performance metrics calculated?

Written by Ruben Pijnenburg

How each metric in your reporting is calculated:

  • Impressions: the number of times your content or ad was displayed, counting every appearance on screen

  • Reach: the number of unique people who saw your content or ad

  • Engagements: every interaction with the content: likes, comments, shares, and clicks

  • Engagement rate: engagements divided by reach, showing how actively the audience responds

  • Clicks: the number of times people clicked through to your destination

  • Conversions: desired actions completed after interacting with the content, such as a purchase, signup, or form fill

  • Sales and revenue: the number of attributed sales and their total monetary value

  • ROAS: revenue divided by ad spend

  • CPA: ad spend divided by conversions

  • EMV (Earned Media Value): the estimated value of the organic exposure, calculated as what the same exposure would have cost as paid advertising

Paid metrics come from your connected ad account; organic metrics come from the creator's connected social pages, as first party data.
