Your contracts with creators

What the statuses, columns and totals on the Contracts page tell you, how contracts are created and changed, and what to do when you need a creator's contract.

Written by Mat Jenkins

Open your campaign and click Contracts in the campaign menu. Every creator you sent an offer to is listed there with the terms they agreed, from the moment you send the contract through to signature.

How a contract is created

We generate the contract automatically from your brief when a creator accepts your offer. It carries the deliverables in your brief, the deadlines you set, the rate that creator agreed, and the paid and organic usage rights on the campaign. Every creator on the campaign signs the same terms, and only the rate and the dates differ per creator.

Check where each contract stands

Click the chips above the table to filter: All, Signed, Pending, Declined, Cancelled. Each chip carries its own count, so Signed (6) tells you six creators signed. Type a name or an @handle into the search box on the right to jump to one creator.

  • Signed: the creator agreed and the campaign runs. We add them to your invoice at this point, not when they deliver.

  • Pending: you sent the contract and the creator has not signed yet. We remind them at 24, 48 and 96 hours, reach out personally after 4 days, and cancel the contract after 5 days so the slot frees up.

  • Declined: the creator turned the contract down after you sent it. Their slot is free again.

  • Cancelled: the contract was cancelled, either after signature or before the creator signed it (it expired after 5 days, or you cancelled it). Hover the badge to read why. The row then counts as zero in your totals.

Read one creator's row

Each row starts with the creator, their handle and their status, then gives you:

  • Contract Sent and Contract Signed, the date you sent the offer and the date they signed it

  • Posts, the number of posts they committed to

  • Contract Savings and Contract Amount, the rate they agreed and what we negotiated off their asking price, if your role includes contract rates

  • Usage Rights Extensions, anything you bought after signature. Open the row to see each extension with its duration, the date it was signed and its rate

  • Discount code and UTM link. We create the UTM link when you accept the creator, and the discount code once they sign. Click the pencil to change either one, and the copy icon to copy it. The pencil only appears if your role includes contract permissions. To change where new UTM links point, open your campaign's brief settings, go to UTM Links, change the Destination URL and click Save. Creators you accept from then on get the new destination. Links you already have keep their old one, so change those per creator with the pencil. UTM links cannot be switched on or off after launch. If you do not see UTM Links, message us in the chat.

  • Address and DOB, if your role includes personal details

Scroll the table sideways to reach the last columns. Cancelled contracts sort to the bottom.

Can I download or view a creator's signed contract?

The Cirqle handles the contractual relationship with every creator on your campaign. We contract and sign with each creator directly, so the signed document is not available for you to download and we cannot send you a copy. Read the creator's row instead: it carries the terms they signed, including the signature date, the number of posts they committed to, the rate they agreed, and any usage rights extensions you bought.

Check what the campaign costs you

Look under the table for your running totals: original contract amount, contract savings, usage rights extensions, and total amount. Dutch brands also see the 21% VAT line and the total including VAT. The totals follow your filter, so click Signed to total signed contracts only.

Export the table to a spreadsheet

Click Export CSV in the top right. You get every column for the creators currently filtered.

Common questions

  • Can I change the amount after sending? Before the creator signs, cancel the offer and send a new one. After signing, message us in the chat with the creator name and the correct amount. See Can I edit a contract or change the amount after sending?

  • Can I withdraw an offer? You can cancel pending invites and open offers until the creator signs. See How do I withdraw an invite or cancel a counter offer?

  • Can I cancel a contract the creator has not signed? Yes, if your role includes contract permissions. Use Cancel this Creator's contract on the creator's row, choose a reason and confirm. This cannot be undone: it removes the contract, the creator's assigned posts and the chat, and the creator cannot re-apply to the campaign. Once a creator has signed anything, message us in the chat instead.

  • Can I move a deadline? Message us in the chat with the creator name and the new deadline. See How do I extend a contract deadline?

  • When am I invoiced, and what if a creator does not deliver? We invoice on signature. If a creator does not deliver, we cancel the contract and you get a credit or refund. See When am I invoiced for a creator, and what if they do not deliver?

  • Where is the creator's shipping address? Signature releases their verified address to your shipment page. See Finding a creator's verified shipping address

  • What do the usage rights mean? See Understanding contract terms

  • Why can I not see rates or addresses? Both are role-gated. Your brand admin can grant contract rates and personal details per user.
